Now that’s a statement I can’t argue with. I really do believe that a shoe says a lot about who you are, more than any other accessory. I also believe that a good shoe makes you confident, and there ain’t nothing ugly in confidence.
Shoes are a big part of who I am. I cannot imagine having any confidence in how I look if I don’t love the shoes I am wearing. I can be frivolous and fall in love immediately, or I can be besotted and longingly admire a pair of shoes for weeks and weeks before approaching them. Whichever method I take for my purchase, the rush of emotion in buying those beloved shoes is euphoric. When I get home, I like to sit and imagine certain outfits I own that i can wear with my shoes. I also like to get inspired on all the new outfits I need to purchase to go with these shoes. Shoes really do bring me joy. If I was Cindarella, I wouldn’t care if my carriage turned back to a pumpkin if I wasn’t home by 12. I am not leaving an amazing glass slipper behind in my haste to exit a party and be home at a reasonable hour. Oh well Prince Charming, here I am in all my house maid glory, but isn’t my shoe amazing. Yes, yes it is.
One of my general fashion rules in life: Go classic with the clothes, make a statement with the shoes. Being a Melbourne girl, I love my staple back wardrobe set off with a shoe that let’s you know I have arrived. My favourite shoe shop is Zomp Shoes. They have every type of style for every type of shoe lover. From classic, to fashion forward, to a work shoes, to a party shoe. Whatever your fancy, you will always leave this shop with a great quality shoe at a reasonable price (this is not sponsored – I just love this shop).
Good shoes to me, may not necessarily mean good shoes to you. Who cares, if they make you feel confident and happy, then remember the wise words of Coco Chanel.
